Over the next few months, you will notice a big fence around certain areas, and construction equipment moving lots of dirt and stone. All of this is making way for a brand new space for our students and community to learn, play and be active. When construction is completed, the schoolyard will be open to the public to enjoy after school hours.

Construction will continue throughout the summer and the new schoolyard is expected to be completed by the fall of 2021. We will look forward to celebrating this new space with you when it’s ready! Space to Grow transforms Chicago schoolyards into dynamic spaces to play, learn, garden and be outside. The schoolyards are funded by Chicago Public Schools, the Chicago Department of Water Management and the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, and they use special design elements to help reduce neighborhood flooding.
